What is Pelvic Floor Dysfunction? 

Pelvic floor dysfunction may include urinary or fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, pain with urinating, pain with intercourse, constipation, pain in the lower back or pelvic region, and prolapse (slipping) of the pelvic organs.

Why do I have Pelvic Floor problems?

It’s characterized by the excessive contracting or relaxing of muscles in this area, which often interferes with urinary, sexual and bowel function.

Therapy usually involves the stretching and strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles, as well as those of the hip, lower back, buttocks and thighs. Therapy may include biofeedback, electrical stimulation, behavior changes, and sometimes involves working vaginally or rectally with the patient.
